ABOUT JOSH
Out the blue. My colon was blocked. Operation chemo. I thought my life was clear of cancer and then bang, they find it again. Now I have stage four and I am getting used to cancer being in my life for the foreseeable future. The regular checkups, the scans, the good news, the bad news, just waiting for any news at times. It all plays on your mind.
Now, a little about me and my life. When I was at university, I was inspired by my grandfather's marathon running and charity fundraising which led me down a similar path of adventure. I’ve always paired charity with adventure and physical challenges, notably three endeavours stand out for me. Running the Paris marathon alongside Fundraising for Parkinson's UK in honour of my grandfather. Conquering the Wadi Rum Ultra, 6 marathons over 5 days in the desert of Jordan, was by far the most surreal trial I had undertaken, this was paired with fundraising for YoungMinds UK. Additionally, I ran the Austin Half Marathon after completing chemotherapy to support fundraising efforts for the UT Health Austin Cancer Institute. Endurance challenges, both mental and physical, have always been my passion.
In 2018, I ventured to LA to work for Burst Oral Care, a hyper-growth start-up. After 18 months, I relocated to Austin, Texas, until 2023. There, I played a role in the company's growth, overseeing corporate sales and partnerships. As a leader in Burst, I spearheaded philanthropic endeavours, creating a scholarship fund for young adults from low socio economic backgrounds entering hygiene and dental school education.
Now back in London, one of my aims is to give back and help where I can. This commitment to making a positive impact led me to undergo my coaching qualification. My primary focus is on supporting individuals facing cancer, especially young people like myself. Nonetheless, my door is always open to anyone who thinks I would be a right coaching match for them. Navigating the overwhelming and unique challenges of this world can be daunting, and I am here to guide you through it, using my own experience and knowledge as the foundation.
Beyond these chapters, I am more than my experiences. Joy for me lies in life's simple pleasures—a cup of green tea, a good book, or nature's beauty. Laughter, compassion, and genuine connections fuel my belief in transformative energy.
Today, as a cancer survivor and holistic life coach, I offer a humble yet professional perspective. My coaching philosophy extends beyond cancer, aiming to guide you towards a life well-lived. Whether post-cancer or seeking broader guidance, let's embark on this journey together.
